Hi! My
name's Paula... When I'm not training dogs, I work at a veterinary clinic.
This gives me a valuable insight into behaviour issues relating to medical
problems which may need resolving. It also helps me advise owners with regard
to the health of their animal.
I hold one personal rule for
training; I do not under any circumstances work with a choke-chain. I
believe that these are cruel, old-fashioned tools, which have now been
surpassed by more effective, not to mention kind, techniques and equipment.
Happy Hounds is run on a strictly one-to-one basis in your own
home, in surroundings your dog is comfortable with.
Why?
Achieve effective results faster. Watch dog-behaviour and interaction with
the family. Identify appropriate solutions quickly. Involve the whole family in
the training process.
How?
Basic training over a 2-week
period. Two 90 minute sessions. Daytime or evening training available.
Time-slot easily arranged to your needs.
Aims
Your dog will
be well mannered, sociable and a pleasure to own. Response to basic commands
including Recall, 'Sit', etc. Gain loose-lead walking control. Learn methods
specific or important to you and your dog.
In addition to my
experience in the veterinary practice, I have recently become a committee
member of PAACT (The Professional Association of Applied Canine Trainers).
