BUSINESS PROFILE:
Welcome to Tom McGrath in Manchester,
Greater Manchester.
Tom McGrath is a Manchester based self taught,
enthusiastic photographer whose hobby became his passion. |
 |
He has been
involved with photography and art since being a child (now in his late 30s)
taking pictures of friends and family in a more candid style of shot. He also
enjoys hill walking and has captured some of his memories from the hills around
where he lives and from holidays.
Tom believes that a picture
should capture a moment that the average eye does not see, and present it in
such a way that makes the beholder relate back to the picture with a fondness.
Tom has a strong passion for the old trusted Black and whites as
he believes they can show so much atmosphere and depth. Tom still uses film
photography, but due to the increase and ease of digital, film processing is
becoming more expensive. Tom uses a Fujifinepix S5500 which produces good
quality pictures and doesn't need a dark room.
Until recently Tom
has never published any of his work, but with inspiration from his family and
freinds has now began a new chapter.He has recently been commissioned by Dream
Veils (www.dream-veils.co.uk) to photograph their products which gave him the
confidence to go more public with his work. (Thanks to Margaret for the help
